Quality Policy
As a life-related company, Shiono Chemical Co., Ltd. takes the protection of people's health and smiles as its mission. We see our highest-priority obligation as the stable provision of pharmaceuticals and other products with the high quality, efficacy, and safety that customers can trust.
To fulfill this mission, we seek to ensure comprehensive quality throughout the life cycle of our products. We will engage in quality assurance activities for all products in line with the following pharmaceutical Quality Policy.
1 Quality assurance grounded in compliance with laws, regulations, and a high ethical sense
We will build and maintain a quality assurance structure grounded in a high ethical sense, complying with GMP, GQP, the Act on Securing Quality, Efficacy and Safety of Products Including Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices, and other relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines.
2 Establishment and proper operation of a Pharmaceutical Quality System (PQS)
Under our responsibility as a manufacturer/distributor and as a pharmaceutical manufacturer, we will establish and properly operate a Pharmaceutical Quality System (PQS) that spans the entire life cycle of pharmaceuticals, including pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality control, shipment determination, quality information management, change management, and distribution.
3 Assurance of comprehensive quality
We support value and reliability in pharmaceuticals, with emphasis on the following three types of quality.
- (1) Manufacturing quality
- Based on GMP, we will enforce proper manufacturing management and quality control in all processes, from raw material acceptance to manufacturing, testing, and shipping. We will work with relevant departments and contractors to ensure uniform and reproducible product quality through confirmation of the validity of manufacturing processes, change management, and continuous process improvement.
- (2) Information quality
- Our relevant departments will collaborate to collect, evaluate, manage, and provide scientific evidence-based information concerning the quality, efficacy, and safety of pharmaceuticals. Throughout the company, we will conduct the system development and education necessary to ensure the proper provision of information to medical practitioners and business partners and dissemination of information within and outside the company.
- (3) Distribution quality
- In the processes of pharmaceuticals distribution, we will collaborate with relevant departments and business partners to establish appropriate distribution management systems that prevent quality degradation and misuse. Through requirements management and information sharing at every stage in storage, transport, and supply, we will strive to ensure that products stably reach patients and medical settings with proper quality maintained.
4 Quick, appropriate handling of quality issues
We will quickly and appropriately handle information regarding product defects, side effects, and other matters concerning quality in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, with the assurance of patient safety as our highest priority.
5 Continuous improvement and the fostering of a culture of quality
By continuously working to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of our pharmaceutical quality system, we will aim to meet constant quality needs. We will work to foster a culture of quality in which every employee understands the importance of quality and acts with autonomy.
We will thoroughly educate all employees on this Quality Policy and, valuing our relationships of trust with all stakeholders, will continue working to achieve product quality that earns the trust of society.

The role of the management team and enforcement of this Charter
- ・Our management team will communicate this Charter throughout the company and its group companies, ensure that it is fully implemented and establish effective governance and compliance systems.
- ・If any violation of this Charter is discovered, the management team will immediately direct the necessary measures to resolve the issue and will work to identify the root cause and prevent recurrence.

2. Conservation of the global environment and reduction of impacts

- ・We will reduce environmental impacts by enhancing efficiency in manufacturing processes and promoting material recycling.
- ・We will address environmental issues through industry-academia-government cooperation and through agricultural corporations, and will contribute to the advancement of other industries.
- ・Introduction of LED lighting, energy-saving equipment, and other improvements at the head office and Takasaki Factory
- ・Promotion of adoption of FSC-certified paper, vegetable oil ink, and other environmentally friendly materials
